I haven’t seen this on TV yet so I can’t judge it completely, but I think I like it. Definitely more modern and fresh compared to its previous branding with how it changes colour scheme depending on which topic the shows come under. It will be interesting to see if and how it moves too on screen. Speaking of this, I bought this book http://www.ireneontwerp.nl/identities/Dynamic-Identities-book/ very recently, I haven’t fully read it yet but it’s great, really interesting how it analyses how brands have recently started to be designed to evolve and change according to different situations and uses and how they live or adapt in different ways. I highly recommend it.

Peter Blake’s Alphabets
Here are some photos of this brilliant book that brings together all of Peter Blake’s alphabets he compiled throughout his life as a wonderful collection. There is a real mixture, some illustrative, some more obvious and some rather witty. One of my tutors from university, Douglas Wilson, well known within the publishing industry, worked with Peter Blake over months to put this book together, combined with Mel Gooding who put the text together.
We were also very lucky to have a guest lecture from Mel Gooding which was bizarre yet very insightful and intriguing. He talked about anything and everything to with typography and language, which I find very interesting generally and consequently inspired me to want to do more typographic work in the near future.
Please excuse my terrible photography, my camera screen was half broken at the time!
